How Do I Choose the Right Weights?

How Do I Choose the Right Weights?

PROGRAM SPECIFIC

First, here's what you should have on hand:

For Foundation: A set of light to medium dumbbells. You don't need anything heavy yet because you're building the foundation first, not maxing out.

For Sessions: Light (5-8 lbs), Medium (10-20 lbs), and Heavy (25+ lbs). Having three options means you can adjust based on the exercise and how your body is feeling that day.

Now, how do you know if you picked the right weight? Simple.

If an exercise feels too easy, go heavier. You should feel challenged, especially in those last 2-3 reps. If you can't control the movement and your form is breaking down, go lighter. Form always comes first. That's it. You'll naturally progress to heavier weight as you get stronger. That's the whole point. Your body adapts, you get stronger, you move up. The progression is built in. Don't get attached to a specific weight. What matters is that you're challenging yourself while maintaining control. Listen to your body and adjust accordingly. That's how real progress happens.
